Area Coaches
You will see elsewhere in the newsletter, as in previous editions over the last two years, that we still have vacancies for Area Coaches, to help us with both our Junior and Senior Players. The Senior Coaching position has been our most pressing need during this time, although Razz and Des, who are strictly speaking our Junior Boy’s and girls Coaches, have filled the breach as it were, admirably. However, Des has made me aware that he is thinking of stepping down at the end of the year due to his increased work commitments whilst still trying to support son Gary with his Judo career. Des has also made clear that he does not want to walk away, as some have done in the past, without other arrangements being in place.
As I have tried to point out in the past, in order to take away the onus/pressure, on any one particular person, with regard to these vacancies, we have tried to create a team environment within the Coaching team, whereby for instance both Des and Razz have switched roles around and have not been afraid to call on others to assist with sessions. Therefore anyone applying for these posts, who perhaps may feel that they could work better as a team, rather than as an individual, would have the opportunity to work in whatever environment they were most happy with. With regard to the Junior posts, we are now well into the BJA WCSP within the west, so it is an important time for our Junior Players, and we need individuals with the necessary organisational skills, and Judo background, to step forward and help the Area’s talented Players.
If you are interested, or would like to know more, or just to chat about these positions, please call me on 01452 610401.
