Chairman of the Western Area

I started Judo in April 1956 in Malta in the Royal Marines. However, due to operational reasons my Judo was spasmodic until 1966, whilst a member of the Commando Kwai, I joined the local club Exmouth Town to increase my participation and transferred to the BJA in 1972, where I have been ever since.

I have been the Chairman of the Western Area since 1988, this year was 16yrs as Chaiman and also served a two year term as Vice-Chairman, 1990-1992. I hold a Diploma in Sports Psychology from Newcastle. As a member of a two man team Mr Otani Snr and myself coached the Royal Navy Team in 1988, they won the Inter-Services Championships that year.

I am part of a very good team running Exmouth Vikings at Exmouth Community College, I restarted the Club in 1992 in its present form.
